Lifeline Project

The social climate in Sri Lanka is changing.  The lifeline project was initiated to assist single mothers who found themselves destitute, and with no social welfare, family or community support.  The scope of this project has since extended to assist, where possible, adults who are facing destitute situations.

Depending on resources, we provide those in need with accommodation, financial support, training and pastoral care.  Encouraging the individual to better themselves, even if it is by simply growing some vegetables for themselves to provide food for their family.

It was the women who benefited the most from this project as it was they who travelled to collect and transport the water. This is the first of these projects and in keeping with our objectives, we intend to roll out similar programs to other regions in Sri Lanka.
